Championship Martial Arts owner David Church said the business will remain open without interruption as staff look for their next home.

The property, located at 1906 W. Broadway Ave., Maryville, was sold to Knoxville-based Tailwater Properties on March 26.

Tailwater, which offers development, brokerage and real estate investment, has listed the building for lease. In a statement, Church described the sale as a strategic transition. The business, he said, has experienced “significant growth” over the past few years.

The move, he said, will position the business for its next phase — one he described as expanding the group’s local impact.

“Our mission remains the same: helping kids and families build confidence, discipline and life skills that carry far beyond the mat,” Church wrote. He said they are actively seeking a new home and hope to be moved by the start of the new school year.

The property sold for $795,000, according to the Blount County Register of Deeds. Its current market appraisal is $1,002,200, according to County records.
