Tour Vision Promotions and Green Meadow Country Club will host the Smoky Mountain Championship presented by Food City women’s golf tournament in Alcoa, Aug. 3-8.
The Epson Tour is the official qualifying tour of the LPGA Tour, the world’s leading competitive destination for female professional golfers.
Assistant Tournament Director Stan Norris said the tournament will bring 140 professional women golfers to Alcoa, generating a multimillion-dollar economic impact in Blount County.
The schedule kicks off Monday through Wednesday with practice days, a Pro-Am and a high school challenge. Competition begins Thursday and concludes Saturday.
Sponsorship packages range from $1,000 to $100,000 and are fully customizable.
Organizers said volunteer opportunities are also available.
“The tournament supports the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Tennessee Valley,” Norris said.
Tour Vision Promotions has operated the men’s tournament in Knoxville for more than 20 years and has signed a five-year agreement with Green Meadow Country Club, making the women’s tournament an annual fixture on the local sports calendar.
Specialty events include a Friday night fashion show, Fairways to Fashion, sponsored by Dick’s House of Sport.
Green Meadow Country Club, the only private course in Blount County, was founded in 1925 when Alcoa Inc. purchased the land for the club. Originally a nine-hole course, the back nine was added in the 1950s and the front nine greens were rebuilt in the early 1990s.
