Alcoa’s first In-N-Out Burger has moved a step closer to reality. The Alcoa Municipal-Regional Planning Commission approved concept plans and a related subdivision plat for the restaurant development at Springbrook Farm June 18.
A representative of In-N-Out Burger declined to comment on an anticipated construction schedule.
The proposed restaurant would be located on Tesla Boulevard to the northwest of Super Chix as part of a larger commercial development being planned by Springbrook Farm developer RealtyLink. Commissioners deferred a site plan for the restaurant itself to their next meeting at the request of the developer.
City staff said a traffic impact study will be required before the project can advance to final approval. The study will help determine roadway improvements, traffic circulation and access requirements for the site.
In-N-Out first announced its expansion to Tennessee in 2023 and currently operates four restaurants in the Nashville area.
According to the company website, the nearest location is in Lebanon, Tennessee, about 135 miles from Alcoa. The company does not franchise.
