Maryville College is bringing its second regional AI summit to the Downtown Center May 12–13, expanding beyond last year’s focus on classroom applications to include business and nonprofit uses of artificial intelligence.
The summit will gather professionals to discuss how AI is reshaping day-to-day work and its varied cultural and environmental implications, with sessions tied to the college’s broader AI Initiative.
The Summit’s scope was expanded this year to include opportunities to explore the societal and environmental impacts of artificial intelligence, alongside its applications in teaching, business, and nonprofit work, said Career Center Director Niklas Trzaskowski.
The school’s policy on the technology encourages responsible use under the guiding principle “be the human.” Last year’s inaugural event drew about 50 participants for a one-day program focused on higher education. Organizers say this year’s expanded scope reflects AI’s growing role in the private sector.
Day pass tickets are $35 and two-day passes are available on Eventbrite for $60
