A Nashville-trained home cook with Sicilian roots has opened a scratch-made sandwich and artisan fudge shop to Foothills Mall.
Tasha Florin and her husband Matthew opened Sandwiches and Stuff earlier this year, expanding what began as Fudge and Stuff Bakery, a vendor-event side business the couple operated at locations including the 407 Flea Market. When the opportunity arose to lease space inside the mall, Florin saw a chance to build something bigger.
“I want to cook,” she said. “I’m a chef by heart. I always have been.”
The shop operates on a straightforward value proposition: a sandwich, side and drink for $10, all day, every day.
The menu includes cheeseburgers, BLTs, deli melts and grilled cheese, with fried chicken sandwiches and tenders. Sides run from mozzarella sticks and onion rings to homemade potato and macaroni salads. DoorDash delivery and online ordering are also available.
The bakery side of the counter features rotating fudge flavors — six to 10 varieties weekly — alongside cheesecakes, brownies and cookies. Florin’s orange dreamsicle fudge took first place at the Dandee’s Chocolate Festival and remains her top seller.
Longer range, the Florins are eyeing a standalone brick-and-mortar restaurant, with the Maryville area near the top of their list.
“It’s a nice, growing area,” Florin said. “There’s a lot of potential here.”
