Little Arrow Outdoor Resort will open a new RV park next month, expanding its Townsend footprint with a separate 38-site concept built around the property’s walkable surroundings.
Little Arrow Base Camp, at 8429 Tennessee Highway 73, is set to open by July 1 on the former Hollow campground site, General Manager Allie Jackson said.
The property will accommodate up to 46 campers across its 38 sites and includes on- and off-river spots and “luxury buddy sites” that fit two campers each.
The grounds have been rebuilt with new electrical, sewer, water and Wi-Fi infrastructure, a new camp store and a refurbished pool and hot tub that will operate March through November.
Other amenities include a playground, teepee, bathhouse and laundry. Pricing will run below Little Arrow’s flagship resort at 118 Stables Drive.
Base Camp will operate as a separate entity from Little Arrow, with its own staff drawn from the existing team to preserve the resort’s hospitality culture, Jackson said.
The property is currently hiring maintenance, front office and marketing positions.
Both Little Arrow properties sit alongside Burger Master, River Rat tubing and Company Distilling and is part of the Kevin Clayton family’s portfolio of Townsend businesses. Carmen Simpher, a Little Arrow co-founder, serves as CEO.
“What we’re trying to advertise more is that it’s walkable to all the different locations,” Jackson said, citing the Great Smoky Mountains Heritage Center directly across the street.
