LeConte Realty agent Troy Galyon earned the Certified Residential Specialist designation in June.
Administered by the Residential Real Estate Council, CRS requires agents to complete either 60 transactions or $30 million in sales volume over five years, along with 30 hours of continuing education through the council.
Galyon said the dual requirement sets CRS apart from many other industry certifications.
“It not only has the continuing education requirement … but it has the number of transactions you have to do,” Galyon said.
Galyon said he’s also earned a broker’s license and has set his sights on the Certified Commercial Investment Member designation, a commercial credential he called “definitely an even harder designation to get” than CRS. He expects that pursuit to take about five more years.
“Earning a designation like CRS requires initiative, discipline, and a genuine desire to continually improve — qualities that can’t be taught and certainly aren’t required,” said Amanda Stone, principal broker and LeConte Realty owner. “Troy’s commitment not only strengthens his own business but also elevates our entire brokerage, and we’re excited to see all that lies ahead for him. Those are exactly the kind of professionals we’re proud to have representing LeConte Realty.”
